Here are the steps for generating data both indoors and outdoors, by connecting a mobile app to a correctly configured console.  

Indoors (data generated by IPS)

1. Have your developers generate a new App Key. Configure the app with the associated credentials. Ensure the app requests location services opt-in from users. 
   
   
2. Import a floor plan, map or site plan overlaid on a world map. In My Venues>Plans.
   
   
3. Add beacons to the plan. In Positioning Configuration>Beacons.
   
   Optionally you can also:
   
   
4. Set time windows when data collection will be active. In Positioning Configuration module.

Outdoors (data generated by GPS)

1. Have your developers generate a new App Key. Configure the app with the associated credentials. Ensure the app requests location services opt-in from users.
2. Create a World Surface. In My Venues>Plans.
   
   
3. Set activation area(s). In Positioning Configuration module
