While the system does not limit the size of regions, if a region is too small then visits may not be recorded.
- For regions overlaid on a world surface (i.e. where positioning uses GPS) we would recommend a region is no smaller than 10m x 10m.
- For regions overlaid on an indoor surface (i.e. where positioning uses IPS) we would recommend a region is no smaller than 3m x 3m.
There are no limits to the number of regions or how regions are positioined in respect of any background map/plan image or in relation to other regions. A regions can therefore overlap with another region or regions, and/or can be entirely contained within a larger region
However, while regions can be drawn outside a data collection area, these will be essentially redundant because visits to such regions will not not recorded.
