Positioning beacons on the floorplan is an essential part of setting up Sail. To begin adding beacons navigate to Positioning Configuration>Beacons in the web console.

Placing your first beacon

1. Click the 'Place Beacon' button
2. Click on the floorplan, indicating as accurately as possible the actual install location of a beacon
3. Enter the UUID, major and minor for the beacon.
4. The default Status is 'Installed' but you can change this to 'Not in Use' or 'Missing'
5. To make entry easier in the future, you can save a meaningful name for the UUID, or the UUID and major pair.
6. Click save

Placing additional beacons

1. Click the 'Place Beacon' button
2. Click on the floorplan, indicating as accurately as possible the actual install location of a beacon
3. The option for 'Choose batch' will default to your last created batch allowing you to just enter the Minor
4. Click save

Viewing the UUID and Major for an existing batch

When adding a beacon to an existing batch you may wish to see the UUID and Major to confirm it is the correct batch. You can do this in one of two ways, either click the toggle for 'View UUID', this will change the view showing the UUID and Major as well as the batch they are currently associated to, if you change either of these values you will be required to create a new batch.

Alternatively click on the drop down 'Choose Batch' and the batch name, UUID and Major will all be displayed, with the option to 'Create new Batch'.
